Righteousness and Holyness is a must and is part of a believer, so as to fulfill the godly nature in a person and to be part of the Body of Christ. God considers Righteousness, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 2Tit 2:11-14. In all the days from the creation of this world and also in Heaven the Lord is Righteous AND EVER MORE He will be, God has desired His chosen to be Righteous and to walk in His Will, that is the Lord our God so be Righteous and Holy.
There are so many reasons as to why the Children of God have to be Righteous, the all Bible talks about Uprightness in the Lord and therefore the answer to it is Righteousness and Holyness, seek to Know the truth in the Word of God and pursue after Righteousness, even what the Lord has told us to observe and to do.
We have to be Righteous and Holy, for it is a commandment from the Lord, the Lord said, you shall be Holy for I am Holy Lev 11:44-45, God is making a request. None is Holy unto the Lord, but try and appear before the Lord as Holy chosen people, it is all about what we do that we do it for Holyness unto the Lord our God. Therefore choose the things that please the Lord and take hold of His covenant, read Is 56:4, and the Bible says; they that have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. Titus 3:8
If anyone of you got saved then this is what happened, a saved person is different from a none saved, for in salvation it is new life, born-again now of a Spiritual seed that is sown into our lives after we accepted Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour from then we became children of the Holy God and our lives are now changed into a super natural lives in Christ, that is a life of Christ walking on Earth. So the bodies we are dressed of are crucified with Christ and are now dead to sin which was of before when we were not saved; so therefore: knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:6,11-12,14
We all saved under the Grace of God by His Salvation, the Bible says: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Eph 2:10, before we got saved none was righteous and not any one is righteous when still under the Law, we were living in a sinning nature until when the Lord sent His Word, the Gospel that changed us into this new life in Christ and He created us doing good works and walking in the upright ways. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." 2 Tim 2:19
We have to be righteous and Holy, for to enter into the Kingdom None who is unrighteousness or unholy shall enter into the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is only prepared for those who are Righteous and Holy; act according to the Word of God, in the Kingdom is eternal and life everlasting. So therefore, Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever. Ps 37:27,29 who shall inherit the Land? The Righteous and, so seek to do righteousness and walk perfectly with God that you may enter the Kingdom of GOD, Now behold, one man came and said to Jesus, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. Mt 19:16-17 so do keep the commandments of the Lord in your hearts and do them.
By the blood of Jesus who was crucified on the cross we are made free from sin, And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Rom 6:18,20,22, you are no longer servants to sin, unrighteous, all uncleanness or to iniquity, but now you are servants unto God, doing godliness and walking upright with the Lord, and therefore this is a fruit unto Holiness and the end of it all is life everlasting.
Even your bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost so will the Holy Ghost sit in an unrighteous or unholy body, no, so try to maintain the good works that you keep the House of the Holy Ghost clean and free from any sin, the Spirit reaveals His Word to us; Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh." But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1Cor 6:15-20
One more thing to tell is that being a Christian that means you are Christ Like, the likeness of Christ has to shine upon you.
For the Righteous God loves righteousness; For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright. Ps 11:7 Righteousness is received into two ways, there is Righteousness gotten by faith in God and even the righteousness of doing actions, so what you do will show and prove the faith righteousness in you and you shall be counted among the Righteous people chosen of the Holy God. Righteousness is a substance, it is seen and it can be felt in someones life and it can be touched on.
1. Righteousness by faith:
God has always desired His people to live in Righteousness and this Righteousness comes by faith, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, believe and have faith in God to receive His Righteousness upon your life that you may walk in it. The Lord said, ask and you shall be given, seek and you will find (Mt 7:7), so therefore ask of the Lord the righteousness and believe that you have received it, listen to the Gospel the Powerful Word of God it will change your life and you shall receive Righteousness. Rom 1:17 says; For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." move in faith whatever things you shall do, do them in faith, the faith actions that you shall do will bring the righteousness of God upon your life. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Col 2:6-7 so then your Righteousness shall be stablished into your life.
2. Righteousness by acts:
The Word says we are dead to sin and alive in Christ, the world can not know this but anyone who is in Christ is dead to sin, it is not an actual death but a death in doing sin, so those who are in Christ they happen not to sin, because now their bodies are hidden in Christ. Read; For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him Col 3:3-10, the new man you have put on is Christ who is the image of the invisible God. So do cast off from you all that which is ungodly and walk in the life of Christ. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Jam 4:7-10
Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12
This is wide in its revelation and the knowledge of understanding it but we shall go into it mainly by scripture reading of some parts. Good and upright is the LORD; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. Ps 25:8
The Lord, When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Mk 8:34, if any one who is able and ready to follow Christ this is what must be done, to deny yourself. Denying to self means to forsake all the bodily desires and walking in spiritual life, the life without sin carry you cross, you may ask what kind of cross to carry but this is the cross, you may have been relying and satisfying all the bodily desires but now carrying your cross is to forsake and leave them to that which the Lord requires you to do by His Word, this is by following the commandments and His statutes. All that the Lord said He meant it as He said it, so you need to leave all the sin acts and the bodily lusts then follow Christ with a humble and obedient spirit.
Abstain from every form of evil.1 Thess 5:22, Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them; For their heart devises violence, And their lips talk of troublemaking. Pr 24:1-2, Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Ps 37:1-2 all these the Spirit of the Lord is giving a counsel so as to escape all the evil, you do have to abstain from all the evil, walk not with sinners who practice evil, and change not you your minds according to what evil doers are doing that you may also be tempted to the same evil. Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Ps 37:3
Jesus is the Light of this World, Then Jesus spoke to the people again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. Jn 8:2, there is a light that shall light upon your ways that you will be able to identify what is of light and of darkness that after your identification you may be able to walk in light and not in darkness. Jesus is leading us in His way, and therefore He says: I traverse the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice, "Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. Pr 8:20,32. But whoever keeps His word; truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1Jn 2:5-6
Walk prudently (diligently) when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil. Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. Eccl 5:1-2
A man's steps are of the LORD; How then can a man understand his own way? Pr 20:24
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Pr 3:6
MAKE A COMMITMENT PRAYER UNTO THE LORD: Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You. Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good. Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness. Let Your mercies come also to me, O LORD--Your salvation according to Your word. So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, For I have hoped in Your ordinances. So shall I keep Your law continually, Forever and ever. And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed. And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love. My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Ps 119:33-48,105
Read the Word AND Pray, However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. Jn 16:13
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; Ps 1:1
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Ps 34:19
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly (blameless). Ps 84:11
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently. Ps 119:1-4
For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it. The promised land. Ps 2:21
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous; And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Ps 34:15-18
If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Edward, became a minister. Col 1:23, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said. Acts 14:22
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? Rom 2:4
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:1-2
