1. What is to Love your God?
The Love of God is the Love we have for God or the Love we have in God. Now the Love of God follows the way we respond to His Word and in actions. Loving God is knowing first in mind at what He did to us, giving His Only Begotten Son Jesus, as a sacrifice for our sins, He who knew no sin became a sin for us that we may be made righteous and redeemed from the destruction of the earth. Jesus says in His Word, that Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for His friends, Jn 15:13 by having this in your mind think of the love which God had for you at first, the mercy, the kindness, the grace that you are now a child of God, and that now you are still alive while others die day and night, and also that you are saved from eternal death, and then that you have of the things and miracles from God, then do ye just love God for that.
Now having known that the Lord loved you in your heart and mind, Jesus calls you and me His friends, but then He says; you are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you, Jn 15:14, that means you and i are a friend to Jesus, only if you do whatsoever word He commanded you to do, also in this life for example you cannot stay with someone for long if whatsoever word you tell him/her to do he does it not, what will happen next, wont you quit. So it is the same thing with Jesus many have come to Him and have believed on Him, but they are not following exactly what His word says, for they need the breads, blessings, signs and miracles from Him, and that is why Jesus said, you love me because you ate the breads and seen miracles, for in here He needed the heart of those who were following Him.
So brethren if we are truly to walk in love with God, be real friends to Jesus we need to do this; doing whatever word He hath commanded to us, i.e. Abide in His Word, Walk in His ways, Walk before God always, Follow His commandments, Keep His judgments and statutes, To hearken and obeying the Voice of Lord your God, To Love the your God with all your heart and without any reservations of life, and to love one another. So therefore the Lord concludes saying; if you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My Love; even as I have kept My Fathers commandments, and abide in His Love, These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. Jn 15:10
2. Perfecting the Love of God in thy life
In who is the love of God perfected, the Bible says: whoever keeps His Word, truly the Love of GOD is perfected in Him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Jesus ought himself also to walk just as He walked, 1 Jn 2:5-6, Jesus walked doing good to all, so waiting justly in perfect love and also loving God, Jesus said of this that; if any man love me, he will keep My words; and My Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with Him. Jn 14:33, this truly is happening in my life by keeping the words of Jesus in my life, that the trinity now abodes with me, and we always sup together in all works, now this will not happen on me alone but also with you, if you will Love the Word of God and keep it with you, He will Love you and He will come to abode with you, if you already sense it that the trinity is with you then you maintain your heart and mouth by singing songs of worship, words of praise, I am sure you will not be left alone for in thy days, hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit. 1 Jn 4:13
3. Why do we need to love?
We need to be loving or to love that we may do all our works pleasing unto the Lord our God, otherwise work done without love is nothing to nought, and that is why the Bible says; Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 1 Cor 13:1-3,8, you are nothing if you love not, but you are something if you love in the Name of the Lord. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor 13:13
4. Love thy God and Him only thou shalt serve
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 Jn 2:15-17, love not to do deeds unto the world, but always seek to doing the Will of God that He may be pleased of thy doings. The world today hath got many attractions and temptations of life yet all these can be overcame and won, but who is he that can overcome the world and its temptations? The Bible has an answer to this; For whatever (whosoever) is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 Jn 5:4-5
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 5:8; 8:35,37-39
